God of War: Mimir's Vision is an Augmented Reality version of the popular franchise. It is an App, available for the Android.

The App takes advantage of some of the Augmented Reality capabilities of each phone. All you do is point your device at a flat surface. This causes a map to appear on that surface. You can then touch various markers, allowing Mimir to explain their significance to the in-game universe. Moving your device will change the map and angle. It serves as a nice introduction to Augmented Reality.

It is important to realize that this "game" isn't a game. Instead, it is a tie-in. You use the App to bring yourself further into the God of War Universe, allowing Mimir's vision to better inform you about the various locations within the game. If you truly love the God of War game or want to know more about it, this App is for you. If you are more of a casual fan, you may find yourself disappointed.

If you haven't experienced Augmented Reality, you may be very impressed by what you see. Unfortunately, many users noted bugs with the app's interface, saying that they couldn't get the system to work, no matter how hard they tried. The review section of the App is replete with such complaints, so you should be prepared for these issues. Fortunately, the app is free to download, so if you do find you have issues getting it to work, you won't be disappointed.

Another problem is the relative lack of content. Yes, the game does expand on the in-game universe, but this can only keep you engaged for a handful of minutes. There's no new content after you move through what the App has to offer, and the app is likely not going to be updated with new content again. You are likely to feel very bored, very quickly.
